Hunter turns 10 weeks old

Well after 11 weeks, I'm finally starting to feel like I've got the hang of this job called being a Mommy. A lot tougher than I ever thought it was going to be, but I do believe we are finally starting to settle into some sort of "normal" ( at least that is my thought today )
This past week went pretty smoothly for the most part. We are continuing our attempts at getting Hunter on a "schedule". He is doing amazing with the morning time. I've been waking him up at 7:30 each morning, changing him and feeding him and then we're out the door at 8:45 and headed for the gym. He's done great in the child care, so far no major problems or out bursts. Then it's home for a mid morning feeding and down for a short nap ( about an hour). Then things get a little hairy, it's up for grabs after that, some days he'll nap for a couple of hours in the afternoon and others he won't let me put him down at all. So we're still a work in progress !!!!!
Greg's been working long hours the past couple of weeks and even working into the early morning hours here at home. Hopefully once they get their new system in place his time away from home won't be so much.

Hunter is ready for church ~ we tried out a new church on Sunday and actually liked it. A lot like Gateway in Houston. Although I don't think we'll ever find a church that we love as much as Gateway. Hunter did fairly well only fussed for a few minutes towards the end.

Hunter has finally graduated from the kitchen sink to the "Big" boy tub and spa... that's right this thing has it's own bubble making machine and shower. So far he loves the water, so I'm hoping he is as much of a water baby as I was....

Lately Hunter starts his afternoon naps in his crib and then ends up in his swing for the last hour or so. He looks so uncomfortable in this picture, but slept like this for almost two hours.

One night last week, little Sierra kept pulling toys out of her basket, we didn't pay to much attention to her since she was being quite. ( that should have been our clue) but she had neatly placed them all right at the bottom of the stairs. Crazy dog !!!! Question was, is she trying to keep us from going up the stairs???? hmmm

As most of you know, I went back to work couple of nights a week, just to get out and have some "people" interaction. My first night back, I had to make sure Daddy was well equipped for his first time alone with the little man.. Lot's of extra clothes for both, burp towels and most importantly mommy's work number !!! All was well, and they both did awesome. One the other hand, Mommy had a hard time being away from her little Peanut.

Need I say more !!!!!!

Tummy time !!! Hunter is starting to try to roll from his tummy to his back, however, he gets caught on his one arm and hasn't figured out how to get it out of his way. But he's trying !!!!
First smile caught on film. I must have spent twenty minutes one day trying to capture a smile, out of about 50 pictures and lots of funny faces on my part this is what I was able to capture.

Almost a smile caught on film....

9 Weeks and Getting So Very Big !!!

Can you believe this little peanut is 9 weeks old already !!!! This has been a much better week for us. Hunter is starting to take a few short naps during the day. We bought a few books last weekend on infant sleep schedules, they seem helpful with lots of good tips and tricks. The only problem is letting him cry it out.... I can only last about 15 minutes then I'm in tears and going up to get him.
This week Hunter has become more tolerant of his swing and bouncy chair, which gives me some time through out the day to get my chores done. He's smiling more and starting to giggle a little. He now will follow you as you walk around him, so no more sneaking in to check on him ( busted you've been caught....)
9 weeks and cute as a "Peanut"

Thanks Aunt Linda for my stylish Illinois Outfit !!!!

Splish Splash I was taking a bath......

Just hanging out !!!!

Mommy's first Mother's Day !!!! Got to love his face in this picture...

Thanks Linda for my stylish shirt !!!!

8 Weeks and Growing.....

8 weeks and getting so BIG......
So I just realized I'm slightly behind in the blogging process. I started this about a week and half ago and never got it finished. We've had some up's and down's over the past week or so, still trying to figure out a schedule that makes everyone happy is a harder task than I ever thought.
Hunter is a great night time sleeper- he sleeps anywhere from 6 1/2 - 9 1/2 hours a night. Yeah for us... but has recently decided that naps are for the dogs only.. Every afternoon we try for a nap and it only lasts about 15-20 minutes. Then evening hits (9:30pm) and the screaming starts, nothing makes this little guy happy until he finally wares himself out around midnight. UGH !!! So we've bought a few books on sleeping and making your baby happy with routines, let's hope we have some success.
Hunter went for his 2 month check up last week. He now weighs 12 pounds 11 ounces, and is 23 1/2 inches long. The Doctor says he looks great !!!! He got 3 shots, not sure if it was harder on me or him (sniff, sniff) but he pulled through like a little champ.
A week of "firsts" this week we've had a lot of our "first times" scary and exciting all in one.
~ First "real" tears from Hunter- broke Mommy's heart to see the tears running down his cheeks after his shots at the doctors.
~ Mommy finally joined the gym- and in turn has to leave Hunter in child care while I work out. It was hard to walk away that first morning, but he did great and I really enjoyed the workout.
~Hunter slept 10 hours last night... YIPPY !!!!
~ I went through his dresser and packed away all his newborn and 0-3 clothes. Most of which he never got to wear. Time for the next baby !!!!
~On Wednesday afternoon I let both dogs out to play and didn't realize they had pushed the gate open. They were out for an afternoon run through the neighborhood. I had just put Hunter down for his normal 20 minute nap, and had to wake him, put him in the car seat and drive the neighborhood looking for our wonderfully, well behaved dogs. Luckily I found them not to far from the house and running together.
This is my favorite picture so far. Happy and content sitting in his boppy pillow. Have to love those moments of pure contentment.

Hunter loves bath time- he now smiles and squeals when you put him down in the water. Looks like we might have a water baby on our hands.

stretched out on the foot stool. We won't be able to do that much longer, he's already out grown it.

Sleeping on Daddy's chest - seems to be the every night theme in our house.

This is Hunter at the hospital- 4 days old and swimming in his "Going Home" outfit. Now brace yourself for the picture below. Same outfit, but he's now 8 weeks old. I knew he was getting bigger, but this really put it in perspective.

Best Buddies already ~ Sierra is by his side at all times. If only she knew what she was in for in the future........ For those of you that have met our "wild and crazy" dog- she's about to met her match with a toddler in the house....

A little tummy time, and showing Mommy how strong his neck is getting. He's about 6 1/2 weeks in this picture.

While Greg's mom was visiting I decided to attempt my first ever lemon meringue pie. It only took me two attempts with the crust and two attempts with the meringue, but the end result was Yum-O...... ( not as good as yours Mom, but it will do until we visit in August..hint hint)
I have more pictures to post, and hopefully it won't take me 2 weeks to get it done.
Hugs and slobbery kisses,
Tina, Greg and Hunter
