Hunter's One Year Photos

Spring Time Fun

Springtime in Texas means cool mornings and gorgeous afternoons.

Each afternoon after naptime, Hunter and I hit the streets......   We either play out front with a few of his toys, or we'll walk to the park and play on the swings. Although, as we get closer to summer here in Texas our outside play will have to move to the morning times. UGH, I'm so not looking forward to the heat of the summer. I already have "big" plans for a water table on the patio and kiddie pool (big enough) for both Hunter and I....  We've even talked about doing some swimming lessons with a few of the other kiddo's in our group.
Several weeks ago we ventured out with our playgroup to Ft. Sam Army Base, where they allow civilians on base to feed the animals in their quad area. What an amazing experience we had. The deer,  geese, and peacocks were so friendly and willing to come right up the little ones.

This little guy was checking out Hunter, before getting closer to get his carrot that Hunter was holding for him.
I couldn't get a picture of the deer and Hunter both, never thought I would be this close to a deer....
Hunter's waiting for the next little critter to come his way...

More afternoon fun outside
Last weekend we hosted a Family Day at the zoo with our playgroup. What a crazy day that was, when we scheduled the event, we never thought about Spring Break. I do believe everyone in the state of Texas was at the zoo with us. Holy Moly..... was it busy. We did have a good time though, and gave the Dad's a chance to meet eachother.
After the zoo, we got Daddy out front with us and even blowing some bubbles with Hunter.

Liam and Hunter at a playdate. Partners in crime is more like it. These two always seem to find the trouble together. And now Liam and his mom are members of our gym, so these two see eachother just about everyday of the week.  It's kind of nice, several of the Mom's are joining our same gym, so it's going to be fun to have someone to workout with. Not sure the girls in the childcare are going to feel the same......

Who wants to go for a ride...... I'm driving.... see ya around the corner, we're heading to Arizona next week to spend some time with my parents. I'm so excited, but sooo neverous about flying with Hunter alone. Wish us luck and we'll have lots of stories and photos to post when we get back to Texas.

Hunter turns One

Good Morning Birthday Boy.... this is what I walked into the morning of his birthday. Such a great thing to see a smiling face first thing in the morning.
We got balloons for his playgroup party on Monday, by Tuesday morning they had completely deflated and suddenly became an interest for the Birthday boy. He had a blast playing with them in kitchen that morning.

Posing with his Birthday Bib
Opening presents.....

So where do you take a One year old for his Birthday Dinner... Mc Donalds of course, Hunter gobbled up his first happy meal cheeseburger, and even tried a few french fries dipped in ketchup.
Is that more cake for me?????? A giant "Pupcake" for Hunter's actual birthday
I love chocolate cake.......
We started the day with a big smile, and ended the day with a big smile... I'm still in disbelief that I no longer have a "baby" I now have the makings of a very energetic toddler. We had our One year check-up today. Hunter weights 19.3 and is 30 inches long. He's slowly moving up the growth chart for his weight- we're now in the 5th percent tile and 50 percent tile for height. His doctor shows no concern for his size, and says he's doing very well with development milestones. Our little trooper, got 6 shots today, 3 pokes in each leg. He cried a little, but has been in good spirits the rest of the day and evening. Thankfully !!!!

Playgroup Party

In keeping with the Puppies and Paws theme, I made some "Pupcakes" for Hunter's playgroup party we hosted on Monday. We had 7 of Hunter's playmates and their mommies over in honor of Hunter's Birthday. And of course our little "Peanut" was a social butterfly..... or should I say security guard/toy hog.... He made a run for everyone's diaper bags, trying to get in them (probably looking for snacks) and then had a hard time watching the other little ones playing with his toys.... Sharing is not something Hunter likes to do, a work in progress...
Hunter making sure Jasmine's doesn't break his Elmo toy....

After a long weekend in Houston and a busy morning with the playgroup, Hunter crashed while eating lunch. Probably a good thing that Birthday's only come once a year, I'm pretty sure we all are working hard to catch up on some much needed rest.

It's my party and I'll cry if I want too....

It's My Party and I'll Cry If I Want Too.....

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you......Puppies and Paws was the big theme for the party. Hunter loves his puppies real and stuffed, so we thought that would be a great theme for his first party. It was so nice to see some of our old co-workers and friends that we haven't had the chance to hang out with in several months. A Big thank you to those who made our little Peanut's birthday a very special day to remember.
What's a Puppies and Paws party without Dog Bone cookies. I spent 2 days making and decorating about 100 dog bones

Since we had to travel about 4 hours to Houston, we decided to order a cake for his party.

Hunter's personal cake- and boy did he enjoy it

Cullen helping Hunter open his gifts. Such a cute little guy, full of energy and loved helping Hunter.
What is this, and what am I suppose to do with it.....
hmmm, should I eat some more cake?
This is soooo good ~ and fun !!!!

Weekend Getaway

Could we be ready for our first haircut?..... it's possible, especially when Daddy gets out the hair gel and goes to work.... this is what we call a "crazy" hair day. We love mornings when Daddy is home with us, this particial morning we were getting ready to head to Houston. Greg had plans to volunteer at the Hillsong concert with a bunch a people from our old church on Friday night. Hunter and I had plans to meet a good friend for dinner and then hang out at the hotel. As much as we've traveled with Hunter the first night is always rough with very little sleep.
chillin before getting ready for bed. He had such a good time playing on the bed and exploring the room.

Ready to Rodeo..... He thought he was "cool" playing with Daddy's boots. Saturday morning we took Hunter to the Houston Rodeo, we spent several hours walking around looking at all the animals. They have a huge area for the kids, with stations to pet or hold different animals, a birthing center where you can see the animals giving birth (although this year we didn't see any actual births, but they had several baby goats and cows that were only a day or two old)

Not so fond of the cow, he just wanted to get away as fast as possible.

But this cow, he LOVED. we spent several minutes petting Elsie. And even got a container of milk to sip on while we walked around.

Petting a huge rabbit. He loved the animals and did really well with not grabbing a hold and pulling.

Admiring the baby chicks. They seemed to like him as well, they kept coming right up to the glass where his hands were. We had a great time exploring the kids area of the Rodeo this year, and can't wait to actually take Hunter to the Rodeo next year....
