We're on our way to Colorado....

Watch Out ~ Here come's the Garvey's......
Finally ~ the day has arrived..... we are on our way to Colorado and Chicago. It seems like it's been a life time since we have been "home". We all are super excited about the next 11 days, 3 states and 5 cities.... Eeeewwww, I'm tried already just thinking about all that traveling..

Of course every little boy's first plane ride, must be well documented with pictures. Hunter did so well on this leg of the flight. One of the flight attendants came through as we were approaching Denver and said " I didn't even realize we had a baby on board" What a relief, I was so stressing over being "one of those" parents with the screaming kid.

Did you really think we weren't going to attempt to take the famous self done family picture.

Oh, the beautiful Rocky Mountains... how I miss seeing you everyday

Getting a little bumpy as we approach Denver

Final approach into Denver, Colorado ~ So good to be "home" again !!!!!
Keep reading our adventures are just beginning. We want to thank everyone for the great times, good laughs and yummy food. Sure makes leaving that much harder now. Hunter had a great time getting spoiled by everyone, and was actually not to hard to get back into a "normal" routine once we returned home. Thankfully !!!!! until our next visit ~ we love and miss you all very much...

I'm Ready for Vacation

Over the river and through the woods, to Grandma's house I go...... that's right folks we are off to Grandma and Grandpa's house(s) on Thursday. Yippy !!!! I've been making list's and pile's for a couple of weeks now, and it's finally here.... It's going to be an adventure for all of us, especially Hunter. (first plane ride, 11 days away from his "normal" routine, and meeting the rest of the family. We've been talking up a storm to Hunter about all his Grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins, pretty sure he is cool with whatever as long as his belly is full and someone is paying attention to him. The dogs on the other hand are getting a little suspicious of my piles, and will not be very happy when the suitcases come out on Wednesday. We will be in Colorado from the 12th-17th and then onto Chicago until the 23rd. We are all looking forward to spending time with the family and making some great memories for our little "Peanut" See you all soon !!!!

A "Family" Reunion of sorts

This past weekend we attended a "Family Reunion" at the hospital where Hunter was born. The hospital was celebrating all the families that had delivered babies there during their first year of being open. We all had a good time and got to see a few of the nurses we had met along our journey. We even got to see Shamu and a few other mascots in the area. Hunter was given a stuffed Dr. Seuss toy (which Sierra was not happy with, she so badly wants to steal it from him)

They had a fire truck there for the older kiddo's to climb on, as well as the younger ones to pose with their daddy's.

We had to waste sometime that morning waiting for the group photo, so Daddy was playing with Hunter.......

wasting more time....

Whaz Up.....

Yo, Yo... whaz up...... Hunter turns 5 months old ~~ 5 months old and and growing like a weed. He tipped the scale at 15 pounds, not a huge gain from his 4 month check-up at 14.11. But what a little personality this little guy has developed. He is very aware of where his Mommy and Daddy are at all times, and does not like it when he can't see you. Making trips to the gym or grocery store a little tricky, they tend to be screaming matches until you get out to get him- then it's like he turns that switch off and is all smiles in a blink of the eye.
He's continuing to master the rolling over, as well as scooting on his back. We've decided that Hunter proofing the house will being as soon as we get back from vacation.
He's doing really well with eating rice cereal from a spoon before his afternoon naps. And loves to stuff toes and fingers in his mouth while eating.
We found this shirt a couple of weeks ago at the Outlet Mall ~ how fitting and perfect for our "little Peanut"
We, or I should say I just couldn't resist buying this shirt for him.

He's really starting to look like a little man, and not so much baby anymore. Sniff, Sniff..... it's such a bitter sweet time ~ I love watching him develop and grow, but at the same time I'm not ready for our baby to grow up...

A couple of weeks ago we had Chris and Jennifer over for a BBQ and some Wii Bowling.... Hunter was in such good spirits that night and was in the middle of all action, until he sacked out in Daddy's arms.... Even with a sleeping Hunter~ Greg was not about to let me finish his game... I'm not that bad of a bowler, I actually do much better with Wii, than I do at the alley. Oh well, we still had a great time with some good friends.
Out like a light in Daddy's arms

My latest discovery.... my feet ~ and how I love to stick them in my mouth.

Rolled over a little quicker than expected and took a mouth full of his block.

Afternoon play time. Sierra had to join in with her toys. I think she was trying to pull off a quick swap before anyone noticed. Sierra has become very jealous of Hunter's toys, and several times has walked right up to him, grabbed one of his toys and took off running... (almost as if she were laughing and saying.. hahaha come and get me ~ just wait Sierra and you'll be in for a big surprise)
So for the past 4 1/2 months, we've had Hunter ON the dining room table with us while eating dinner. Now that he is rolling over it's become quit the challenge. Daddy had his hands full this night at dinner. Pretty sure Hunter is wondering why Daddy is not sharing with him.

Going in for the sneak attack. About time to get a high chair for this little guy !!!!!

A Week Without Daddy .....

So this past week we were without Daddy...... Greg spent the week in St. Louis working on some training stuff for work. Hunter and I had a really good week, even though we both missed Daddy. We managed to get to the gym each morning, kept up with the never ending laundry, took good naps, slept each night (all night), experimented with rice cereal in a bottle right before his afternoon nap ( ahhhh, 2 hour naps are back ) and almost painted a wall in our family room (but thought twice about it without Greg's help- should have just done it, now Greg is questioning my color choice)
We also got Hunter his Bumbo chair while Greg was away. Above is Hunter's first time in his chair. He loves it..... although he doesn't tolerate it for to long, we always get BIG smiles and a few little giggles when we put him it in....
I also got him a Slumber Sack (no more swaddling) and he did amazingly well with sleeping through the night, he got up one night for a few minutes but then went right back down. It's so much easier putting him to bed now without having to swaddle him.... Yeah, for this milestone !!!

No, this is not a crime scene....... On Wednesday afternoon we were playing on the floor, I thought he was watching the dogs play in the front room. NOPE ~ he was sound to sleep !!!!!!

I see you...... I just loved this look on his face.... if he was older, I would have to question his innocence

Can you believe how blue those eyes are... We're still wondering where he got the blue from, since both Greg and I have hazel eyes... He also, has some red tints to his hair as it is slowly turning a light brownish blond color.

It's always better to have both the fingers and the binky in your mouth at the same time.. Right ????
Our first attempt at rice cereal and the spoon... He actually did pretty well, made some pretty goofy faces at first, slowly is getting the hang of it. We're only giving him a tiny amount of cereal each day, as his doctor says nothing but milk until he's 6 months old. But the cereal in his afternoon bottle has made the world of difference in his napping schedule, so I'm totally good with this little experiment.

Just call me "Scooter" I had him on the mat while making dinner the other night and he managed to scoot himself off the mat and into the kitchen, as well as kicking off one of his socks... He's on the move.... watch out !!!!

A little tummy time. He's getting so close to rolling over from his back to tummy. He's figured out that he needs to fling his legs over and go with the flow, but stops on the side... it's going to happen this week, I just know it.....

Here Hunter went from his tummy to his back......

trying SO hard to make it past his arm. I had to work tonight, and Greg called me at work to tell me our little man had figured it out.... That's right, Hunter now can roll from his back to his tummy. I was super excited, but also very sad. I only work about 10 hours a week, and I missed this "first" first. Luckily Greg had the video camera handy and captured the moment for me. My next question was, What's next.........?
