Almost There........ we hope

Today's update regarding our house...... Not such good news, we were told this morning that our closing date has been pushed back to the 21st. It seems the mortgage company can't get a hold of the appraisal for the house in time for the 15th date they originally had set. The house is 100 % complete on the inside, and we will be doing our "final" walk through in the morning. The weather has caused some delays in getting the fence up in the back, but hopefully they will be able to get that done in the next day or two.

This picture was taken on Sept. 3rd. They had finished the drive way a few days before. The grass and landscaping will not be done until after we close, that way they are not responsible for the care of it.
Our front door, it looks soooo good !!!!!! Hopefully no one will steal it, we've already had all the toilet seats and light bulbs stolen from the house.

Part of the kitchen, this was the first time we got see our kitchen all put together. Pretty exciting.

This is the back yard, after they leveled it, Greg is already looking at riding lawn mowers. I think the size is a little over whelming.... but the dogs are going to love it !!!!!!!
We go back to the doctor on Monday for our 16 week check-up. It's hard to believe how fast the weeks are flying by at this point. I'm still feeling pretty good, my gag reflex is in over drive these days, and walking the dogs- when they have to "go" has been a challenge, poor Greg is not only trying to clean up after them, but also making sure that I don't get sick over the smell. And brushing my teeth is still a major project everyday, usually ending with the toothbrush winning the challenge. Other than that, I'm feeling good- and finally starting to get more energy back.
We'll keep you all posted on the progress of our closing on the house, and the doctors appointment on Monday.
Hugs,
Greg and Tina

Introducing "Peanut" ......

That's right....... we are pregnant and expecting March 7, 2010. Although, I believe most of you have heard the news by now, we thought you might like to see "Peanuts" first pictures. I'll be 14 weeks along on Monday, for the most part it's been pretty smooth. With only a few days where the whole "morning sickness" has gotten me down. Knock on wood, today was probably the worst of all the days. I was feeling fine when we went to breakfast, we came back to the room and I got in the shower ( still feeling fine) within 5 minutes of getting out of the shower I was sicker than a dog, and have felt that way all day long. Not sure if it's a combination of being so tired from work, or if I'm coming down with something, but today was a horrible day.

This was "Peanut" at our 8 week check-up- only really saw the heart beat at this visit, but it was a sure sign that this is really happening...

This photo was at our 12 week check-up. Kinda hard to make out, but we saw the head, 2 arms, 2 legs and strong heart beat coming in at 167 beats a minute that day. ( according to the book I'm reading- a high rate like that means it's a girl....) any bets out there yet??????
As you can see our "adventures" will continue to "grow" !!!!!!!! stay tuned
That's all folks..... for now

PART TWO.... WHERE DID THE TIME GO ?????

As promised, here is part two of our adventures this summer. Below you will find pictures of our house and the quick progress it is making. As of now, we are scheduled to close on the house September 15th, putting us about 3 weeks out from completion. Yeah !!!! Although, hotel living has not been that bad we are all very anxious to get moved into our "own" home. The dogs have been spoiled with weekly trips to a dog park to run off some of the energy they keep bottled up with not having the room to run in. We've also put them in a Doggie Day Care a few days ( which is nice for us, they run and play so hard that when they return home they do nothing but sleep for a day or two. AHHHHH !!!! Our sleeping arrangements have become quit comical.... I'm upstairs with Sierra and Greg is down stairs with Shelby... Yes, that's right...... the beds here are much smaller than what the dogs are used to, and there just is not enough room for the 4 of us. So we decided instead of getting no sleep with tossing and turning and tucking for covers we would spilt up in hopes of a few good hours. For the most part it has been working, but there are those nights where one of the dogs is up and feels the need to go outside. Not as easy as it use to be.... we can't just open the door and let them out, it becomes a group project with leasing them up, and us stumbling out to the Doggie Area. UGHHHH .....

The picture above was taken July 15th, not bad for a weeks worth of work

This one was taken July 22nd, The guy on the patio is Greg's boss Mike.....

July 31st, moving day.... we filled this truck and then some.. anyone want to help unpack??????

This picture was taken August 22nd. The outside is complete with the exception of the drive way and yard. The inside is coming along nicely we have painted walls, light fixtures, cabinets, bath tubs, and sinks in the bathrooms, vinyl in the kitchen and breakfast area, and tile in the bathrooms and laundry room. All that's really left is the finishing touches and carpet ( we hope)

We took the dogs to the house the other night for the first time, and boy did Sierra have a great time looking out all the windows, which are "eye" level to her..... Should be an adventure.
As I bring part two to a close, we hope everyone is doing well. Stay tuned for part three and then hopefully we'll be caught up for now.
With love,
Greg and Tina

It's starting to look like a "house"

Just a quick weekly update on our house in San Antonio. This picture was taken on Tuesday 6/30/09. They've got all the pipes laid for the plumbing and drainage, and the supports up for the foundation.

We had our first pre-construction meeting on Thursday and everything looks good so far. They plan on pouring the foundation this Wednesday (7/8/09) and if the weather holds up, they will start framing on Friday. So by the time we get back from Colorado- all the walls should be up, and ready for our second construction meeting before they start to hang the sheet rock. The construction guy we are dealing with ( Richard) seems pretty optimistic about finishing up by the end of August first part of September.

Greg and Richard- looking over the site 7/2/09

this was taken on Thursday 7/2/09- everything has been back poured- and is ready for the foundation.

While in San Antonio this past week, Greg and I were able to find a very nice living arrangement for us before the house is done. We will be staying in the "Pent House" Not really- but it's a 2 story hotel room with tons of room for the dogs and us. So the month of being "homeless" shouldn't be so bad.

We will be leaving for Colorado on Thursday. My "little" niece is getting married on Saturday- it's hard to believe she's old enough ( after all, I was in the 6th grade when she was born) Yicks- I just aged myself pretty good..... then on Monday- we are going to take some family photos in the morning and then Celebrating my parents 50th anniversary with friends and family. It's going to be a world - wind trip, but we are both looking forward to the time away.

Hope everyone had a safe and Happy 4th of July !!!
Love,
Tina and Greg
