2 Year Old Stats

It's been a while since I spelled out the fun facts about our little man. I don't think I can come up with 24 new facts, but here a few.
He's 2 feet 10 inches tall now, He weighs 29 pounds. And he's finally in the double digits on the growth charts @ 50 % in both height and weight. Now that's something to celebrate. Since he's been below 5 % in weight since about 6 months of age.  He's got a pretty big vocabulary now, most of it probably only understood by Mommy and Daddy but he's getting better and everyday he surprises us with a new word or two. The latest word is "NO" I was really thinking we were going to get lucky with this one. Although, at this point with the way he uses the word NO, it's pretty darn cute. Pretty sure in a few days or weeks I will think differently. So for now, I will just smile and take it all in ! Our little monkey has no fear and will climb anything. And I mean anything !!! Nothing is safe on the counters and he's in his glory if he has you running in a hundred directions. He imagination is just blossoming and it's so fun to watch him pick up something and pretend it's something else. The crazy thing is, I completely understand what's he's pretending to do, and will join right in on the fun. This kid LOVES to be outside. If he could spend all day outside he would without a complaint in the world.
This is our first attempt at some Bluebonnets this spring. We found a new little patch with a couple of friends, however the boys were all a little cranky and only wanted to show the camera's their back sides. Still a cute picture, but we will keep trying until we get a good face shot.
Dinner on the patio anyone? We attempted eating outside for the first time tonight. Didn't go as well as I had hoped. Hunter only sat for about 3 minutes ( even the cookie already on his plate, couldn't keep him in his chair) So he ran around chasing the dogs with his lawn mower, while I finished my dinner and every couple of laps around the yard he would pull in for a few bites and then carry on. All in all it only took just over an hour to clean his plate.  But it was a beautiful evening outside, and we don't have any plans tomorrow so staying up a little later than normal was fine with me. I was having just as much fun watching him as he was having making the laps in the yard.

The Birthday Boy !!!!!

All Aboard.....
Can you believe it ?  I can't, still in denial about my little peanut turning 2. He's become such an independent, full of life and personality little boy right before our eyes. I wake up every morning and wonder what new things he will learn, or what  new word will he use, but in deed it's really what new things will I learn from him. It's such a breath of fresh air to look at life through the eyes of a 2 year old.  So what does turning 2 mean to a little boy, a long weekend of special treatments, being spoiled and a big party with all his friends.

The Birthday Boy !!! Happy Birthday to the most amazing 2 year old !!!  We spent the morning playing with Grandpa and Grandma Steffen who made the long trip from Arizona to be with a certain little boy as he turned 2.  Then we met Daddy for lunch at a favorite burger joint of our play group. We were suppose to have a big get together there that day with the group, as 4 of the kids all have Birthdays within days of each other. But several of them got sick and the weather was threatening rain so it was cancelled. But we decided to go anyways, the food was yummy, the weather held off, and Hunter had a blast running around in the play yard after lunch. And I'm pretty sure Grandpa and Grandma enjoyed watching their grandson. Good times for all !!!!
After nap time, it was time to get busy with the unwrapping of the gifts from the family. And boy did he get in to it. Not a moment was spared with the tearing of paper.
Beep, Beep... he comes Hunter !!!
After a dinner of baked pasta ( the Birthday Boys favorite) we indulged in some chocolate cupcakes
 And boy were they good
Finally, the day I had been planning for months has arrived. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans. So we were forced to keep the party inside. I stressed for a few days about how we were going to fit 20 some adults and 10 toddlers in the house, but it all turned out, and everyone seemed to have a good time. Daddy's big surprise for Hunter was the Thomas the Train set. And I must say it did look awesome set up around the cake, all the kids had a great time watching the train. Good idea Daddy !

One of Hunter's gifts he received was a Thomas Bubble maker. Super cool and boy does it make a pile of bubbles.
My newest addiction is Pinterest, I must say Hunter's party was almost completely inspired by some sort of idea I found one Pinterest. The box train being one of them. We had big hopes of all kids climbing around in train out in the back yard. But good ol' mother nature sure did have other idea's. So the train was put in the garage and forgotten about, until everyone was gone and we were cleaning up. At least Hunter had some fun with it.
Thanks to everyone who made Hunter's 2nd Birthday so special. We love you all !!!!
